I bought my 2013 Prius here. They took my trade-in though it had mechanical issues. There was some difficulty with attaching the rear plates; they took care of it cheerfully and for free and also attached the front plates. Buying the car was very positive as well.

I needed my brakes done, they got me in quickly and had everything done within a few hours. I love the free Lyft ride they provided so my husband didn’t have to take time off of work to pick me up and drop me off. Also I needed to pick it up after the service department closed so they arranged for me to pick up my keys from the sales department. Overall, very friendly, efficient, and good price.

Came in with a towed vehicle for a flat tire. Was able to have a scheduled routine mileage checkup at the same time.

I went to AutoNation Volkswagen Carlsbad to order a part and was told it would arrive in a few days. Weeks went by with no update. After calling several times with no answers, I went in person — waited about 40 minutes just to be told they had ordered the wrong part. The person who placed the order wasn’t even there. Later that day, I spoke to them directly, was promised the correct part would arrive in 4-5 days — it’s now been over two months with zero follow-up. They also can’t even update my customer info. Despite multiple requests, I still get emails under my relative’s name who originally owned the car. To make matters worse, I dropped my car off for service, only to receive an email afterward saying I missed my appointment — from the same associate who checked my car in! I had to call and tell them my car was already there. Disorganized, unprofessional, and a complete lack of communication. Avoid AutoNation Volkswagen Carlsbad if you can.

SAVE YOUR HARD WORKING MONEY and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!! My experience started well, but it did a quick negative turn as soon as I drove off the lot. A “low coolant” light turned on. No problem set a service date, dropped my car off, picked up the same day with “there is no issue and the car is good”. A day later the “low coolant” light turned on again. I scheduled another service date, dropped my car off, horrible communication from the service department, a few days later the car is “fixed”, picked it up. Drove like 2 minutes the “low coolant” light turned back on. Drove back to drop off my car again to wait another few days and my car is still not fixed! 4/6/25 bought car 4/15/25 - first service to fix the lift gate (knew about this when purchasing the car) and to figure out why the low coolant light keeps turning on even after I purchased two bottles of coolant right after buying the car! 4/23/25 - second service schedule at 7:30am - dropped car off. Horrible communication from the service department. I had to request an update the next day. A few days later my Car is ready for pick up on 4/28. 4/28/25 - Per the service department everything is fixed and I am good to go. Drove less than a mile the “low coolant” light turned back on! Went right back to dealership and dropped my car off again! It is now 5/2/2025 and I have no date of when my car will be fixed. So my car has been getting service since 4/23! So overall I bought a car I haven’t even really used as it has been getting “fixed” for most of the time. I have been very patient with the whole process but when I am the one needing to request updates after I paid for the car and after so many days at this point I hope my experience helps someone else.

Worked with Val at Autonation VW Carlsbad. He was thorough and attentive to the repairs required on my car. He kept me updated with progress. I have had my car repaired at several VW service centers in OC and SD county and will continue to return to this service center. I’ve had too many experiences with service centers attempting to take advantage of me as a woman, thinking they can pull the wool over my eyes and charge me for repairs and parts that aren’t necessary. This has not happened at Autonation VW Carlsbad. Thank you Val!

This is my second visit with AutoNation and just like my last visit, they sure didn’t disappoint. The young lady at the front is super nice and welcoming. The main reason that I keep coming back is because of my service advisor Valentin. He has made my experience with this location enjoyable. Prior to finding autonation I had been taking my vehicle to a complete different location /dealership that was dreadful and made me hate the whole dealership experience but this place is 100% different. They are very accommodating and friendly. My service advisor is attentive, knowledge, and very patient when explaining and answer all my questions and concerns. He genuinely cares and takes care of his customers. I highly recommend this location for you all your car needs.

Service was great. I was told I needed brakes but declined service due to finances. One of my concerns was my antifreeze being low so I figured it was something with the water pump. When I spoke with service tech regarding what services performed during an oil change I was informed all fluids are topped off as normal procedure. He did mention it was possible it could’ve been missed. I checked my fluids when I got home just to make sure and lo and behold my break fluid reservoir is almost bone dry. It’s disappointing because this is my third VW in North county that service has been lacking there of.

First of all, anyone that ones to take there vw here for repairs I would be extremely careful. Where do I start I dropped off my car to get transmission replaced. 3 days later I get a message from then service manager Jamie to come pick up the car. I get to the dealership take my keys and sure enough........🤦♂️🤦♂️ 1. My key wouldn't work to open or close my car. 2. My engine cover and batter cover is missing. 3. My alignment is completely off 4. They crashed my car front bumper completely scratched and cracked paint not to mention the ripped bottom plastic water shields, damaged rockers left and right hummmm.. I contacted then manager Jamie and said that she would take care of the damages. 5 months go by and a new manager now John sends me a message and says that they won't fix ALL the damaged that were caused at the dealership. TAKE PICTURE OF YOUR CAR BEFORE THEY WORK ON IT THAT WHAT SAVE ME KEEP IN MIND DEALERSHIP DONT CARE ABOUT YOUR CAR.

Since purchasing my VW mid year 2025, I’ve visited the service center on several occasions and have nothing but praise for the sales and service team so far… keep doing what you’re doing!

Just bought my VW, and this was my first experience at this place. The process was quick and seamless. The staff were great and friendly. I stopped by because I had an electrical issue with my VW's passenger door not opening from the outside. Turns out there was a wire that was unplugged. The crazy thing is that I took the car for service to "another location" first, and they charged me TWICE as much, just to diagnose and tell me that the door handle needs to be replaced for another $1300. AutoNation fixed the issue for half the price I paid to the other guy, just to tell me that he cannot fix it without replacing it! I'll come back again, 100%.

Very disappointed with the service provided . First , I took the car for coolant water leakage! ,took two days total to get the parts and fix it . Second morning , water is still leaking , contacted them , took the car there .They said the coolant tank has a crack ( how they didn’t see that yesterday ) , changed the tank and flushed the cooling system , paid total of $1400 in both visits ! Today , I found an even bigger water spot under the car ! Waiting for the weekend to be over to contact them again and freely express my frustration.

What can I say about Will, my service representative. Will has been with me for the past years with my VW Passat to the very end. He's always informative, calm, and doesn't push. He explains the service needs very clearly. This time he helped with my oil change on my new VW Tiguan, which I bought only three months ago. I explained how dissappointed i was with the drive and that i was going to sell it, knowing full well how many thousands of dollars I would lose in doing so. But, because i just didn't like the drive, it was worth taking the loss now. Will asked multiple questions about the drive, and between him and the mechanic, the said to reset the transmission memory, basically back the car being "new". The reset would allow the cars technology to learn my driving patterns and this could, he stressed could, fix the issue. Guess what. It did. The drive is much better and i'm not considering keeping the vehicle. Employee of the Year, in my opinion.
