I'm always treated very well there. My car is just over 10 years old and they've been taking care of her for all that time.

I brought my new Ford Hybrid Escape that I purchased from Modesto Ford because it had a factory defect that is supposed to be fixed at any Ford dealership. When greeted by my service writer asking how we were doing, I replied that I was not doing well. That I just bought my new Ford and already I'm having to bring in a repair. He told me that he hears it 20 times a day. I told him for him is just a same old story, but for each of those 20 customers, it's a traumatic event after spending a cost of a new car. So it was not a good start. At home, we received a call from the same service writer, that the problem was cause by an impact so it was not covered under warranty. How I could I have impacted a unit above the gas pedal while just driving the car, I asked. He said he did not know and suggested I bring it to the Ford dealer I bought it from. Because of this and a conversation I heard earlier from the back of the service department, I got the feeling that it wasn't their problem and did not want to deal with it. When we went to pick up the car, I asked the service writer(his initials are M.C.) how much to fix it. he said $1400 or $2700 or I can't remember. I said I would trade it in first and buy another car. And it wouldn't be a Ford, like my last 2 new cars were. I'd buy a Toyota, the make my wife refers. M.C. replied that Toyota is the only brand he buys! So here I am in a Ford dealership, telling my service writer that because of this problem, I am thinking of abandoning Ford as a Make of Choice, and he agrees with me? Not a confidence builder of the Ford Brand. We left with our car and immediately drove down to Modesto Heritage Ford where we bought it. After taking the car in to inspect it, they said it was clear that this impact was made in the factory and Is covered under warranty. I would have broken my foot and still not have been able to crack this casing that contained the Air Conditioning Condenser, leaking into the car instead of to the ground below. This would be clear to any one, let alone a Service Manager or Mechanic. After I got home, I wrote an email to the service manager asking for a return email about my experience. I recieved nothing back. I called again and asked for the Sales Manager and General Managers email address. Instead of giving it to me, they wanted to know why I wanted this info. I hung up and decided to go ahead and write my honest review of my experience. For service,I have found only one Ford service department worth visiting in the Sacramento area. That was Future Ford of Sacramento. I would suggest that a person looking to Purchase a car, buy it from a dealer where there is actually service given in the Service Department. Elk Grove Ford Service Manager would not even respond to the problem I experienced there. Or take the drive to Modesto Heritage Ford. Experience excellence in sales from Jerry Urban and excellence in service from Nunie, the service manager! Nuff said.

Mike Capas is my preferred Service employee at Elk Grove Ford. Really takes the extra time to walk you through the symptoms and faults of your vehicle, then follows it up with recommendations that are well thought out and takes cost into consideration. Furthermore, the outsourced businesses I was recommended to for additional services were more practical than having been performed at a big dealership and were equally outstanding. 5 Stars if the location had more technicians and staff to handle the workloads at this location.
