Beware!! I recently had an engine oil change at this shop, and it was a highly disappointing experience. The technicians were unprofessional and seemed unfamiliar with handling the splash shield on my German-made car. Shortly after the service, the splash guard came off while I was driving at 50 mph on Highway 15. I ended up pulling over car on hwy to temporarily secure the splash shield. It was frustrating! When I returned to address the issue, they refused to replace the damaged splash shield and instead removed all the screws, securing it with zip ties that they didn't even install and cut properly. Where did my all screws go? Store managed said I lost all because I drove fast or hit something while I drive. That was the most RIDICULOUS thing I have ever heard. All screws were perfectly secured before oil change and no issue past a year.This lack of care and professionalism is unacceptable, I am going to take this car to local dealer to recover. They should be responsible for the cost. I would not recommend their services to anyone.

Donny and Angel helped me out today. Great service - very friendly and professional. Got an oil change within 45 minutes on a Saturday ~10:30am. I was recommended some other services but I didn’t get pressured into any other services (I’m a 25 year old female, so that was very appreciated). Had a debacle towing my car over night to a different shop that didn’t have the tools to complete my repair, so I had to get my car towed again down the street to this shop. I’ve been coming to this Firestone for as long as I have had a car to take care of. Miguel and Frank, in addition to all of the guys who do the work in the back, and everyone else who I’ve interacted with over the years have earned a great deal of trust from me and I recommend them as often as I’m asked. Today it was just a flat tire. But I drove past a dozen tire repair shops to get to this one.

Horrible experience. I made an appointment online for tire rotation and oil change and indicated that I needed to wait for the service to be performed as I did not have a ride to leave the car for service. Upon check in, I was told it would take 3 hours, which is ridiculous but I needed it done. I walked to a nearby restaurant to make some work calls and grab lunch. I returned at the 3 hour mark to learn they found a nail in my tire and were awaiting approval for a new tire as it was a ‘sidewall puncture’. They suggested that I call Element to get approval and, by the time I got through to someone, it was miraculously approved on their computer. They told a mechanic to replace the tire. A half hour later, I walked to the back of the garage to see my car still sitting untouched. I also noted that the nail is through the tread, NOT the sidewall, and it would appear that it could simply be repaired, not needing replacement. When I went back inside, the store manager (Frank Goodman) told me that they have to wait for a lift to open before they can install the new tire and that all his mechanics are busy. I told him to forget the tire and that I’d come back another time. He didn’t like this and said my car was on a jack and I couldn’t take it. If it was in a jack, why do we need to wait for a lift to open? I told him it was not in a jack, that it is just sitting out back, and that I won’t be returning to this store for a new tire. He then handed me my key and said that I could go get the car out back myself. I asked for an invoice to ensure that my company was not paying for a new tire that I did not get. After another few minutes of Frank typing in his computer, he asked me to electronically sign something. I asked what I was signing for and he, clearly annoyed with me, said he needed my signature to generate and print the invoice. I signed and he printed out an invoice with no actual charges in it. I asked why there’s no indication of what they are actually billing me for and he said it was because we have a National Account, so the charges don’t show. This sounds like complete nonsense and I will be following up with our fleet services to ensure we were not overcharged for anything. This will be the last time that I ever use a Firestone location for anything, whether it’s for business or personal needs.

First off, I want to say Terry and the staff at Firestone in Kearny Mesa are wonderful. They always explain everything that needs to be repaired or changed on my vehicle, and give me a reasonable expectation of how long it might take, cost, or if parts need to be ordered. I suggest calling in to schedule an appointment beforehand, or on weekends, to check if they're busy. Angel at the front desk is very polite and handles the communication between the technicians and customers, but I really appreciate that Terry, one of their Mechanics, will always explain what maintenance can be postponed or is urgent after an inspection. I've been coming to Firestone for years because they never try to sell me on work that isn't needed, even when it was owned by another company. I've been through 3 separate vehicles with them, and have had all my services and tire changes performed by the technicians there when I was able to do so. It's a no frills shop, that does oil changes, tires, repair and maintenance. Most importantly, I appreciate that I've never had to return my vehicle for any issues after dropping my vehicle off.

Angel provided good customer service. That was my original 5 star review. I am bumping this down to a 1 star because after I wrote this review I looked at my car and the mechanic who worked on the car had oil stains all over his pants and sat all over my seats. The GM Miguel offered to go halves on detailing with me so I was out 50 bucks and out time on a Saturday to have to go to his supplier. The supplier ended up covering it but it was a pain. Second, on this original service that I had with them was for a transmission fluid drain and fill. Not once did they ask me if the fluid was ever drain and filled on a 2014 forester with 120k plus miles (it wasn’t ever serviced). They drain and filled and a month later I’m driving the car and all systems shut down. I take it to them and of course they deny any liability. They take it to their transmission shop which gives me a quote. I ended up taking it to the Subaru dealer. Miguel was the GM, he is a useless GM who didn’t even return my phone calls towards the end. Guy is shady and so is this store. Stay far away there’s better forestones in San Diego county and 100% do not ever let them touch your transmission! Go to a shop.
