These guys are amazing. They do super-fast, super-competent, super-cheap electrical and alternator work of all kinds, and to boot, they are pleasant to deal with and completely honest. The storefront is not much to look at, that's for sure. But personally, I'd rather save that money in overhead. I took my car in today, it was done in 2 hours, and the gentleman even went so far as to *come pick me up* since I'd had to bike all the way home after dropping the car off. Gabby's can't be beat in Knoxville!

So, my car kept stalling and it was a miracle it wasn't in front of a truck or any traffic, so i was just asking if the mechanic could check it. He thought it was the battery the first time and tightened the cable for 20$, which was fine. It finally stalled where i knew i was not going to take anymore chances and i asked for his feedback. He said " it must be the alternator and i can do for 460 to rebuild or more to buy a one .." I said just check and please call before begin any work as it may not be the issue." He agreed, and i called from work as i was trying to decide what was best. He yelled as i didnt want to pay for what wasnt the cause of the stalling. He told me to give him, actually demanded $180 and he would let me get it towed somewhere else, as there was oil on the alternator causing it issues, according to him. I should have done that, as i said if the alternator is good then let me have my car. In the middle of work and his not being kind, i felt i was being intimidated, so i asked for a warranty and to fix it, for 460? He said fine. On pick up, since he only takes cash, he was needing to hold my phone or and other items, as collatoral after a long day of teaching. I went to get the cash and my car was making all kinds of noises. He took the money, which seems to be truly unparalleled to most 2024 businesses, who would hope to keep a customer;( I will never go back, but will ask Mr. Cool on Kingston pike for his expert precision to take over). This happened on a Thursday. The following morning, Friday, my car died again as i was coming out of a busy area, so Gabby's sent me back to be in harm's, way as well as others. I called Gabbys and their response was " oh well".. " zero care for taking 500 of my teacher pay for NOTHING. Thankfully, i called and went to Mr Cool who has amazing staff who used their computers to assess the cause of the stalling. The camshaft was the reason, which was communicates with something that stops stalls. He did it for 263. He also fixed the oil leak and they are an amazing family, which I plan to also review. May people find kind professionals who dont yell and take 500 for zero help, and actually harmful work, not work except yelling.
