I brought my car in for an oil change at Midas. It had been my oil change place for several years. I got a call shortly after drop off telling me they couldn't open the hood. I told them the last time the hood was opened was 6 months before for an oil change at that same Midas. They insisted that they needed to charge me to fix the hood latch mechanism, which they were last to use. I refused to be charged for a problem that almost certainly they had accidentally created (remember the hood hadn't been opened)! Upon picking up the car there is now a loose cable sticking out where it was attached to the latch and the hood is super tight to the car frame. Neither of these was the case when I dropped off. THEY BROKE THE LATCH AND THEN TRIED TO CHARGE ME TO FIX IT! Unbelievable!

Jason was a massive help! When we came in for our oil change the first time, he let us know that they didn’t have our oil and gave us $50 off to our oil change and rescheduled us as soon as they would be restocked. He was also a great guy to just talk with and he was very respectful.

Shady! Won’t be back!! I have previously used Midas when I lived in Chicago and had a great experience. Went to the Port Orchard Midas for an oil change after moving out west, and they informed me I needed to get my brakes inspected. They said the front brakes were great, but that my rear brakes were not in good shape. My brakes started making a grinding noise a couple weeks later, and so I told my dad and he told me to bring my car by so he could take a look himself. We inspected the rear tires because that’s what Midas said needed attention. Nothing wrong, still had a good groove on the brake pads…so he cleaned the brake pads off and reassembled…and my car still made noise. So he ordered some brake lubricant and some more cleaner and said we would inspect the front tires later. Well we looked at them today, and my front right tire’s brake pad was COMPLETELY worn down. Midas didn’t inspect anything, and going forward I won’t be back. Would not recommend people to them. Do not trust them to handle future maintenance problems. Included a picture of my front brake pads for reference. Furthermore. I had one of my tires replaced by them…they gave me a quote, I accepted and scheduled an appointment to get it changed. When I got there, they said they didn’t have my tire and they weren’t sure what the person was looking at when she said they had my tire in stock initially. They said they have a similarly priced tire…but it was more money than the tire I was quoted. They should have honored the initial quote but instead they made more money off of me. Won’t be back.

Forgot to get my oil changed before a trip up to the PNW. My oil change light was flashing, so needed to get it taken care of. Midas has an online appointment system,perfect for my hate phone calls personality, and had a same day appointment available. Checking in was smooth and easy. They had my car ready in under the time estimated, and I got a coupon for a free oil change next time. Service guys were friendly and chill vibes, which is appreciated for a frazzled mom like me. No upselling of products or services either. (Extra bonus star for that!) Had a slight issue with my hood when I was leaving (totally my fault) and they came out to troubleshoot and fixed it for me. If I lived here, they would be my new go to for service

I had a 8:00 am oil change scheduled. I got there 10 minutes early and was theist customer in. Shop mechanics were just getting to work. I was told 1 hour when I gave them my keys. They verified my contact info. I walked to breakfast and killed some time returning at 8:55 am. Seeing my car out front, I assumed that the oil change was done, but when I got inside they told me it hadn't even been started. I was pretty upset that they had not even bothered to call if there was a problem. But there was no problem, it looked like the shop priority was other work. I asked for my keys and went to Walts down the road, where I was taken care of in 30 minutes. The Midas receptionist did not even offer an apology. I've been going there for 30 years. I guess the new Canadian owner is absent and the shop has gone downhill fast. Won't be back.

Skyler and Brian went above and beyond a couple of weeks ago by providing an excellent service by installing a pesky little light bulb in the map reader light socket. When they didn’t have the part Skyler recommended a place and even called to make sure the automotive store had the exact light bulb. What’s even more MIND BLOWING is that all of this was done as a courtesy without charge. And additionally without having an appointment they squeezed me in. Another employee last Saturday I unfortunately don’t recall his name was taking an order to reattach front license plate. It broke off at a car wash. He gave me an initial price. When I got back to pick up my car, the price was nearly half less!! I wasn’t ripped off. To the contrary. I’ll be recommending this place to everyone who needs car service in Port Orchard, WA.

I have never had such amazing experience or any mechanic go above and beyond for me like this. My brakes started feeling funny to me so I went in to get a quote shortly before they were closing, it was a long day and traffic was crazy. When they went to check they said they were metal on metal and need to be replaced but my calipers were still good. I told them I would come right back in the morning to get them done. The mechanic said he didn’t feel like it was safe to let me drive and they stayed more than an hour late to fix my brakes. On top of that the front desk gal went to pick up the parts AND when the part store was out of the regular ones she got my part upgraded by the part store at the original price that they quoted me. Angela and Justin you folks are amazing thank you!

We went to pick up a trailer that we rented and found that our trailer wiring harness was corroded and needed to be. Closest shop that could do it was Midas Port Orchard, because we were on a crunch having already paid for the rental at the dump trailer and the Kabota tractor we were renting for a big job at our home . This is a job that should’ve taken 20 minutes, and it did; however, I was charged for an hour of book time at $175, and that’s with me running over to Napa, buying the part for them and delivering it to them to save time. I feel like I was taking advantage of will not go back there again.

I had them put a new water pump in and flush the system. Gave me a quote ended up being way more. The next day we picked up the truck. Had to bring it back in the following day because it had no coolant in it. Will never go back to this shop.

I have been taking my 2001 Toyota Tacoma there for years. They do great work at competitive prices, and are always courteous and helpful. This latest visit was outstanding. Because of the age of my truck, lots of parts are beginning to wear out. Fixing everything at once would be prohibitively expensive, and Angela took the time to go over all the options to help me prioritize what should be down now, and what could safely wait. Then she went the extra mile and actually drove me home, since the work would take hours. Her communication was excellent throughout the repair, letting me know everything the mechanics found and cancelling items that turned out to be ok once the engine was opened up. Whatever Angela is being paid, she deserves a raise. I got my truck back today, on time and well within the quoted price. It's good to have mechanics you can trust. Midas in Port Orchard is the very best.
