Pep Boys (Store 0426 - Sterling Heights, MI). What a great experience! Haven’t been there in years, but walked in to facility on a Saturday afternoon without an appointment for verification my battery needed to be replaced. Within 45 min, I was back on the road with a new battery & a great sense of mobile security. Polite, helpful service with a smile! Kudos! Great job!

Dropped car off at 9:30am with appointment, they said it would be done in 1 to 3 hours. Called after 3 hours they said they would call me right back, 45 minutes later I call back they said their machine broke this morning and they couldn't fix my car. So they were just going to keep my car all day and not tell me. Very unprofessional and wasted my whole day walking up and down the street in the hot sun waiting for nothing

This particular location is always a good experience for me. I live closer to other locations, but this location always has a mechanic and I’m always able to get in the same day to get little things like oil changes and tire rotations done.

I purchased a set of tires online and had PepBoys mount & balance them. Service was quick & easy with no hassles and could not beat the cost at $20 per tire!

My daughter's car was experiencing electrical problems and i took it to 2 shops for diagnosis and repair cost. Pep Boys gave the better price and both gentleman employee and lady manager were so nice i asked how to leave a good word for them and they said "thank you, we're just happy to be able to help you". My experience found them to be fair priced and very helpful.

First impression is terrible. Book online app …. 8:30am . Was Told the guy won’t be in until 9am that drop off is usually suggested because they run a packed shop. Well it doesn’t state that online and what’s the point of an appointment if your guy won’t be in here until 9am. Extremely rude and makes you feel uncomfortable . More than likely gonna get my keys back and leave. Should’ve known better after seeing reviews and the look and attitude when I said I had to wait. Should have just took my keys back right then and there. So won’t do this again . That’s for sure .

Pep Boys have always been a pleasure to work with. My car was ready ahead of time and my tire pressure was corrected without me asking to have it done. Sterling Heights Pep Boys staff are the absolute best!!!!

I needed new tires for my 2010 Journey Today. It was a pleasant visit, Justin listened to my needs and provided 4 tires that fit my budget. I just finished loggin into the rewards center and within 5 minutes I was logged in and was claimed. (All your data is imported from Pepboys computers) There is hardly any input just more confirming. Ran the car for about 10 miles to Troy and back, it was a smooth ride. Thanks

The store managers and employees went above and beyond to provide a positive experience. They were incredibly helpful, friendly, and professional, making me feel confident my vehicle was in good hands. The service was efficient, and the communication was outstanding—they kept me informed every step of the way while my car was being serviced. I truly appreciated their attention to detail and commitment to customer satisfaction. I would highly recommend this auto shop to anyone looking for quality service and a welcoming atmosphere.

Terrible service!!!!!! I took my car in to this location as they are a Fidelity warranty servicer. They diagnosed the transmission as being bad, the warranty was approved. The manager called me and told me my portion was going to be $3,000 because they needed to make money on the warranty. She farther stated the transmission they were getting was over $8,000 and warranty was not covering $2,000 and the deductible was $1,000. I asked her about the core charge on the transmission, she said they do not deal with core charges. I called the warranty company, they said none of this was true. The manager of Pep Boys called back and said my final bill would be $500. My first follow up was two weeks after they 'ordered' the transmission. The manager said the mechanic had to go on emergency leave. They have had my car for, just over, two months. I called two weeks ago, the person who picked up said the card they ordered it on was getting declined but they were able to get it ordered. I called Friday, the manager said more parts had to get ordered and it was going to be another week. I asked if parts were being expedited, she said yes and they would be there the following day. I asked if the car was going to be worked on Monday, she said the tech was blocked off Monday afternoon. I followed up Monday afternoon, the person I talked to said my car was going to get worked on next week at which time I asked to speak to a manager. The manager said her tech was going to start working on it, but when pressed for a completion time of a 20 hour repair, she told me next week. At this point I have no confidence in the facilities ability to repair my car as they most likely do not have anyone qualified to work on a Corvette. The manager is certainly not qualified to be running a branch with the lies thus far, as well as keeping a $7,000 transmission in stock over a billing cycle and having to pay the vendor prior to getting paid for the job.

On Sunday 4/17/22 I went to Pep Boys in Sterling Heights to see if I needed to make an appointment to have my car inspected and serviced. I spoke with David Junior, Service Mgr who advised me that I could bring my car in the next day at 8am. I advised him that I needed to check my work schedule and call back once I got home. When I got home, I checked my schedule and called back to make an appointment. David answered the phone and we scheduled my appointment for 9am Monday, 4/18. The next day I got an unexpected meeting at the same time so I called before my appointment to see if I can reschedule. The person on the phone advised yes, so I rescheduled my appointment for 11am same day Monday, 4/18. I arrived to Pep Boys at 11am and gave David my keys to my vehicle. David advised once the tech pull the car in the shop and take a look at it they will give me a call today to let me know what they find. I asked what was the store address so that I could take a Lyft back home. David provided the information twice. Hours have went by and I didn’t hear from David regarding my vehicle. I called back and asked how soon will I know the status of my vehicle. David advised that he would call me back in an hour with an update. Several hours have passed and I still haven’t received a phone call. I called Pep Boys around 6:20pm and asked what’s going on with my vehicle since they close at 7pm. David lied and said he spoke with me already and advised me that the tech couldn’t get to my vehicle and he will take a look at it in the morning. I advised David that he didn’t call me. I had my phone present with me the whole time and that he never called. I asked David what time is he claiming he called. David said about 45 minutes ago (which would have been 5:35pm. He didn’t call. I advised David that I will be coming up to the shop to pick up my vehicle. When I got there my vehicle was in the same spot where I parked it covered with snow. David was sitting down playing with two phones.

I went in to have my controll are looked at that they replaced. It took forever even with a appointment to look at it. I was told by the manager my controll are was good but my struts are shot, my tires are shot which i knew l, and my frame was bent and that I should just get rid of my car NOW. I went for a second opinion to someone I know and has 2 mechanic shops. My frame is not bent just the plastic covering under is broke and handing, my struts are not shot but all of my controll arms and bushings were shot and posed a serious safety hazard. Never did any of the so called mechanics see that and let me drive away. That is a huge safety issue and liability on pep boys part. Also when I called cooorate to file a complaint they DID not forward this to higher up but to the store manager which I asked not to do. It took 4 phone calls and 9 days for them to call me back from higer up. IL

I had a positive experience at Pep Boys in Sterling Heights, MI. The staff was friendly and responsive, attending to my Porsche auto needs promptly. They provided a clear explanation of the process, and the work was completed in a timely manner. I appreciate their professionalism and would recommend them for anyone needing auto services.

I scheduled an appointment online, was of no use. Was there from 9:20am untill 1:30pm for tires to be replaced. After that wait, was told they could not replace them. My key for my wheel lock was not working for them (it worked fine for the other mechanic). Was told that once lock was removed, they could do it and it would be moved to the front of the line. So I brought it in with lock removed. Showed up at 10:45am. Tires were replaced and car was back to me at 2:50pm. Computers windows 98, so concern of security is also there. Bathroom was absolutely disgusting.

They told him the price would be $29.00 then Inwas quarts due to some fees. Ok not happy but ok. When my husband arrives for the appointment he was told the installer was not there yet would he leave his car. My husband sis not have a way home so he said I will come back. When he came back they told him the balancer broke so they could not do them. l called and they told me the installer was late and did not get in until 9:00am and there was an 8:00 appointment in front of him then the balance broke. The man was very rude to me. Do not go here ever! I would have given zero stars but I sis not want people to just think I forgot

I brought my fleet vehicle in for an oil change. I was given an 11:00 appointment. At 2pm I inquired about how much longer it would take and the customer service employee said that he was waiting on an authorization from fleet management. At this point I was very upset because it's all about communication had I known it an hour in I could have called them like I did. Only to find out 30 minutes after the request was put in fleet sent a question back asking if the oil light was on. I understand processes and procedures but the employee could have communicated better. To add insult to injury one of the other employees went to the to check how long and came back and said 30 minutes and the car had not even been started. I will NEVER come to this location AGAIN! My time is too valuable to waste. I have been her now 4 hours and still nothing.

One piece of advice if you value your peace of mind and your time: never go to this Pep Boys location. I had an appointment scheduled for a tire change on Friday. After waiting over an hour, I was told there was a “system error” and asked to come back the next day. I returned the following day around 12:30 PM and was made to wait almost 4½ hours just to change two tires. When I finally asked why it was taking so long, I was told that the employees were new and still in training. That is not an acceptable excuse for wasting a customer’s entire afternoon. On top of that, the restroom was extremely dirty, and the overall service was horrible. I will never visit this store again and do not recommend it to anyone.

Tire prices good. I would have gotten my tires installed there. However, I made an appointment online and when I got to the store they told me that the tires were not available there and that they would have to be ordered. And that would have been fine. I would have came back next week and installed the tires. However, the customer service at the store was lacking a lot. The guy that I talked to seemed like he didn't even care about the fact that I was coming into a store today to get my tires installed and was not able to do it. There was no apologies of. I'm sorry that the system had you come in today and waste your time. We'll make sure we make it right. Nothing along that lines. It was just the sorry. That's the way the system does it. Customer service goes a long way and I feel like a lot of companies should be spending way more time on their customer service skills and less time on how much they want to upcharge their customers to make money.
