I was returning from a trip to Miami for business and stopped half way across Alligator Alley in the middle of nowhere. I smelled and observed engine oil leaking from under my truck. I googled auto mechanics near me and a few in Collier County came up as I do not live in the area. After reading through the reviews I chose to call Mechanic Mike's based on the great reviews knowing I was still taking a chance. Mike answered and I explained the problem indicating I was going to gamble and try to make it to his shop. Mike explained if I had any problems just call and he would come tow it in. Luckily I made it, Mike took my truck in and quickly found the problem was a cracked oil cooler causing the engine oil loss. He made phone calls and found the part was not in stock anywhere and would need to be ordered. He completed an estimate and explained everything on the estimate making me more comfortable with the repairs and leaving my truck. Mike contacted me a few days later indicating repairs were complete and the cost was within the estimate. When I paid and picked up my truck I was dreading the thought of having to clean the undercarriage and exterior of the engine oil but found Mike had cleaned my vehicle already!! Mike showed me the failed part and indicated he stands by all his repairs which come with a one year warranty. This happened in early July 2019 and I writing this in late August as I wanted to put some miles on the repair work. The truck is doing great and I would highly recommend Mechanic Mike for any of your automotive needs!!

I have had two vehicles serviced at Mechanic Mike's shop. Both times, Mike was accurate with the diagnostics and cost of the repairs. The vehicles were repaired properly and he explained all of the work that was completed. I am typically a DIY'er, but found it was well worth it to have taken my vehicle to him. The completed service was top notch. I observed some of the work being done in his shop, and it was apparent to me that he works on each vehicle as if it were his own, and treats every customer as though they were a friend or member of his family. I would recommend him to anyone and everyone.

To start this review off, I would like to mention I was scammed $1400. I went in to get my glow plugs fixed and mentioned a leak, quoted $1400 for it and the problem was never fixed, i went back and it was brought to my attention that the glow plugs weren’t the issue but that it was turbo which then on top of the 1400 they already charged me they also charged me 1900 on top for a replacement of the turbo. They dragged it out for a week and never called me, I had to call them to figure out what the heck was going on with my truck. They told me they couldn’t get 2lb of boost, they said the turbo was completely destroyed and that I needed a new one. I felt something suspicious going on because when I had first brought my truck in, there was no issue with my turbo, I then went and picked up my truck( denied them working on it) and found out my turbo was never broken . I left the property putting out 25lb of boost. He tried to scam me on my turbo and probably for the 1400 that I previously paid for too. Moral of the story mike is a con artist and out to get you. To top it all off I will be filling a complaint with the collier county licensing bureau as well as the consumer protection agency.

Summary of my experience, for those who don't want to read the whole thing: This business is sexist, incompetent, unreliable, and dishonest. Read more below if you want to find out why. My experience with Mechanic Mike was a comically bad experience from start to finish. It started with one of my female employees dropping off our vehicle so that they could do some service, including figuring our why our battery was draining. She mentioned that she didn't feel comfortable going in there alone, and that nobody there took her seriously because she was a woman. She called and followed up several times over the first few WEEKS they had our vehicle, and they kept blowing her off, again, she felt it was because she was a woman. She asked me to intervene because of the uncomfortable and creepy feelings she was getting from being in and around their office. It's important to note that the vehicle we left with them was out of service, so we didn't need it any time soon. After a month of missed calls and no return calls, I finally got a hold of someone. I was told that they couldn't work on the vehicle because the battery was dead and they needed to replace the batteries. Duh, that's why we dropped it off. They clearly let the batteries drain out. I asked them to charge it and try again. Weeks go by. Nothing. Finally, I tell them I'm going to come pick the vehicle up because they are not doing anything with it, so I drive down with my female employee AFTER asking them to charge the vehicle batteries that they let drain. I was over an hour away, so I checked several times to make sure the van would start so I could take it somewhere else. Guess what happened when we arrived? No Mechanic Mike, no knowledge of any conversation I had, no working battery. I literally had to teach the mechanic how to use a portable jump starter on this vehicle, but the batteries were too low. They told me I needed to pay $450 for new batteries. The batteries were only a year old, they had let them drain after ignoring the problem for months. I left that day without the vehicle very frustrated. I called a few more times, couldn't speak to anyone, and eventually gave up. MONTHS went by and they never called, never fixed anything, never tried to make a single thing right. Finally, after about 8 months, I get in touch with Mechanic Mike once again and tell him my female employee is coming to pick up the vehicle, please charge the batteries overnight so that they will work. And imagine that, they worked!!! The kicker? They charged me $170.78 for the privilege of getting screwed over by them repeatedly. My employee paid it and left immediately because she didn't feel comfortable there, otherwise she never would have paid it. I spoke with Mechanic Mike himself after all of this went down and we were charged, and he apologized profusely and told me he's better than this. He told me he was going to reverse the charge on the card and we'd get that back. Well, that was almost 2 months ago, and after a dozen calls and texts, I'm giving up. Instead of getting my $170 back, I'll hope to save someone else out there the absolutely nightmare of dealing with this business.

Wow! I blew out my turbo during my trip with my RV. Called Mike cuz he did me real good about 3 years ago and saved his number. He told me to bring it in, had the part and did some unscheduled maintenance for me all in under 2 hours! Mike did me right again…Mike and his awesome crew…thanks guys!

Complete HOMERUN!!! Best in all of the area!!! Ive been taking my cars and trucks to Mike for well over 10 years and never has let me down, very well educated owner and staff. I would never hesitate to call I’m with a situation or question and always get the truth and honesty out of him. Great shop clean and organized very hard to find a place like this. Once again Mike and crew saved me on a Friday before I went on a trip with my car. Honesty and integrity will alway make me come back for over 10 years plus now. If you’re looking for an amazing mechanic, Mike’s shop is the way to go! Mike and his staff were wonderful! They treat you like family, not just another customer. I’m usually a bit hesitant when it comes to going to a mechanic, due to bad experiences in the past, but Mike’s staff was extremely attentive. They look out for what’s in your best interest in the long run. They even pointed out and fixed something that was missed in my previous service (done elsewhere). I’m extremely grateful for them and I’ll be coming back for any future services I need. Definitely a mechanic I feel confident in recommending to friends and family.

I took my 2020 BMW to Mike to get an estimate on replacing engine/transmisson mount(s). BMW quoted me over $1,000 more. While my car was there, Mike gave me a quote to replace my rear brakes, which BMW had quoted at $150 more. Needless to say, my car repairs were done at an affordable cost. I really appreciate the great service and attention to detail. I highly recommend you check with Mike before going elsewhere.

Great Service! I took my 2017 Kia in because I was having transmission problems. I had already taken it to someone else before, and they replaced the entire transmission — but I was still having the same issues. I decided to look for someone reliable, and a painter friend of mine recommended Mike. They diagnosed and fixed the problem within 2–4 days. They also showed me pictures of other issues and oil leaks my car had, which I really appreciated. They were very honest and transparent about everything. What really stood out was how flexible they were with the price. I didn’t have the full amount at the time, but they worked with me and helped me out so I could get my car fixed. Overall, they did a great job, were trustworthy, and treated me with respect. Highly recommend! Definitely will recommend to friends!

They moved a vehicle, put our car on the lift and inspected it thoroughly. We were assured we could continue on our way without risk and suggested returning for a small repair when it was convenient. 10 out of 10. Our fire engine was experiencing mechanical problems yesterday morning on the National Fire. We had it towed to Mikes where they quickly diagnosed the issues and gave us a reasonable estimate. They fixed everything all before 5pm and we were able to pick it up and be back out on the fire today. The engine is running great now. Its hard to find that kind of service in todays world.
